   For those who enjoy Snapper, Grouper, Amberjack and Lemon fishing, XFC offers fishing trips that introduce you to possibly the most extensive reef system in the world. In the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana we are fortunate to have over 3800 Gulf structures. These structures provide habitat for marine life the moment they are placed in the water. Many of these platforms have been in place for over 40 years. These platforms hold large groups of smaller specie and micro-organisms that are fed by the nutrients from the Mississippi River that keep the larger species fed well.


   If Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin and Marlin are your game there is no need to travel around the world to find blue water and abundant marine life. New Orleans is your destination for the best blue water fishing available. There have only been a limited few who have had the opportunity to fish the migration of the Tuna and Wahoo that takes place every year on the Midnight Lumps. These fish come thru hard and healthy and have gone mostly undiscovered by the recreatiional industry. XFC invites you to fish with us mainly because we are 100% dedicated to our job and we take pride in what we do.



  • Trigger Fish - are a delicacy and love to munch on cutbait, shrimp and squid.
  • Cobia - an exciting predator to handle. They like porgies, diamond jigs, green/red jigs and hard head catfish.
  • Gag Grouper - these fish love squid and porgies. They, along with the Black Grouper, are unique in that they transform from female to male as they get bigger.
  • Black Grouper - spawn between May and August.
  • Mangrove Snapper - like croakers, cigar monows and crustaceans for bait. Very plentiful on our structures.
  • Red Snapper - prefer squid, porgies and rock shrimp. They can be fished from 40 to 200 feet down.
  • Warsaw Grouper - can grow to 500 plus lbs. Can't resist a live hardtail dropped down about 200 feet and will occasionally hit liver as bait.
  • Tuna - easily persuaded with porgies as chum and fed bonita as cut bait. There are also an assortment of trolling lures that are very effective.
  • Wahoo - these fighters are more than certain to burn your arms when you present them with porgies and certain pulling lures.
  • Amberjack - hit on squid, hardtails and porgies. Typically found in depths of 60 to 230 feet and are a dominant species around our structures.
